Although Van Morison has never fit into the popular culture, he is one of the most influential artist of all time, everyone from Springsteen to Costello to Bono to head Counting Crow Adam Duritz sounds at least a bit like him.
A jazz- and R&B-loving Irish mystic with an indescribably soulful voice, he sounds like the love child of Dylan Thomas and Billie Holiday.
